Hello, I’m Diana — and I’ve been a quilter for more than 55 years.

Quilting has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve spent decades designing quilts, teaching traditional techniques, and sharing the joy of this craft with anyone who wanted to learn. Quilting keeps my grandmother close to my heart, and seeing the excitement on a quilter’s face still brings me pure joy.

Over the years, I’ve watched the quilting world evolve — and I’ve evolved with it. Today, I design and digitize quilts using my Build A Quilt: Patchwork in the Hoop system. It’s real patchwork quilting created with your home embroidery machine, with the precision of traditional quilting built right into the digital pattern. With just a 5x7 hoop and washaway stabilizer, quilters of any experience level can create accurate blocks, full quilts, and beautiful quilted projects in far less time.

 

Before creating Build A Quilt, I was a college professor, an experience that shaped my love of teaching and my belief that anyone can learn new skills with the right guidance. I’ve created hundreds of videos filled with education, inspiration, and plenty of fun because I believe quilting should feel joyful, accessible, and creative for everyone. At Build A Quilt, we’re on a mission to welcome more people into quilting — the 21st‑century way.
