Happy Sunday Friends -
This morning brought one of those soft, steady rains that farmers pray for — the kind that settles into the soil and gives everything a deep drink. After the heat we’ve had, it felt like a reset button for the whole landscape. A good day for studio work and a little more Wisconsin Quilt Show prep.
With it being Memorial Day weekend, Dave (Mr. Build A Quilt/and a veteran) spent part of the morning placing flags on the graves of local veterans. While he was honoring them, I was here in the studio working on our upcoming Quilt Along (to be announced very soon), the Wisconsin booth and feeling grateful for the quiet freedoms that make this creative life possible.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been gathering the pieces that will make up the BAQ booth — not just the products, but the displays, containers, frames, and little touches that make a space feel intentional and welcoming. I’ve had the larger display furniture for a while, but the smaller pieces have been coming together slowly and thoughtfully.
Today I’m sharing a few of the items that will be part of the booth:
The Basket

This basket will hold small kits, which I'll be sharing with you all in the next few weeks, or curated bundles. I love the soft scalloped edging — it adds a gentle, handmade touch that fits the BAQ aesthetic perfectly.
The Shallow Bowl

This little bowl is going to be home to bobbin sets, scissor fobs, and other tiny treasures. It’s simple, sweet, and keeps everything visible without feeling cluttered.
The Frames

These frames will be used for price lists, small signs, and bits of information throughout the booth. They help everything feel cohesive and easy to navigate — and they add a clean, polished touch to the display.
Between these pieces and the containers I found earlier this week, the booth is starting to feel less like a temporary setup and more like a little BAQ shop — warm, organized, and intentional. It's been a lot of fun to actually think about Build A Quilt being a little physical shop. I’m excited to see it all come together in Wisconsin.
And speaking of excitement…
⭐ Welcome to Our Newest Quilt Lab Member!
One of my favorite things is write is the welcoming of new members into Quilt Lab or the bios of Build A Quilt members. This week we have a wonderful new addition who has already been exploring the site, asking great questions, and diving into the community.

I’m so glad you’re here, Pat — and I can’t wait to stitch through the summer with you.
More booth updates, and QAL prep coming soon. Remember that the SkillBuilder 005 pattern and video are now available on the website. For now, I’m off to work on some more exciting projects that will be coming to Build A Soon. Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Until next time,
Quilt Life Beautiful...
Diana
