Hello Friends -
It has been a week none of us will forget. Our corner of Illinois was hit with severe storms, tornados, flooding, and heartbreaking damage — including the complete devastation of the flower farm. Many of us are still cleaning up, still checking on neighbors, and still finding our footing after a very traumatic stretch of weather.
Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your understanding about the Pre‑Launch Party delay. I appreciate you all so very much.
Pre‑Launch Party — New Date!
Our rescheduled BAQ Pre‑Launch Party will be:
Saturday, August 22, 2026 🕑 2:00 PM Central
We’ll celebrate, share updates, give away goodies, and enjoy a little joy after a very heavy week.
September LIVE Events — From the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show!
There will not be a separate Wednesday LIVE this month. Instead, we’ll be broadcasting LIVE from the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show:

September 10–12 📍 Booth #422 — The Magic Number
We’ll pop on at different times throughout the event so you can experience the show energy right along with us — demos, updates, surprises, and maybe a few behind‑the‑scenes moments.
🎉 A Huge BAQ Surprise: Mint Is Now… Wall Paint!
I’ve been keeping this one quiet, but I can finally share it.
The Build A Quilt Mint color — our signature brand color — is now an actual wall paint.
I have the first sample quarts sitting right here in the studio. Seeing a color I developed over years become a real, tangible paint I can brush onto a wall… it’s surreal, joyful, and honestly a little emotional.
I’ll have the full story, the process, and the details after the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show. But for now — just know that BAQ Mint is officially real‑world color magic.

Free Baby Quilt Pattern — A Sweet Gift for Growing Families
Our friends and families are welcoming new babies left and right, so this week I’m sharing a simple, modern baby quilt pattern you can make in any two colors you love.
You’ll need your Basic 6 Segment Library, and you can choose 5", 6", or 7" segments depending on the size you want.
I’ve included:
a finished quilt mockup in fabric
the instruction sheet with segment counts and final sizes
three size options based on your Basic 6 segment size
a layout that works beautifully as a baby quilt or a wall quilt
If you have the Basic 6 Library, you already have everything you need to stitch this up quickly and beautifully.

A Note About This Week’s Pattern — And What’s Coming Next
I’ve been wanting to give you more Basic 6 quilt ideas without turning every single one into a big, formal pattern download. If you own the Basic 6 Segment Library, you already have everything you need — the cutting, the stitching, the segment creation, and the technique.
So this baby quilt is intentionally simple: just the layout, the segment counts, and the finished sizes. It’s a perfect beginner project and a great reminder of how powerful the Basic 6 really is.
Once you know your segments, you can build anything.
I’ll be sharing more of these Basic 6 Quick Patterns throughout the year. They’re easy, fun, and a great way to use your segment library in new ways — without needing a full pattern packet every time.
💗 Thank You for Being Here
This community continues to amaze me. Through storms, delays, celebrations, and surprises, you show up with kindness, creativity, and heart.
I can’t wait to see you at the Pre‑Launch Party next Saturday — and then LIVE from Booth #422 in September.
Quilt Life Beautiful,
Diana
